“>“>The second iteration of the 40MAX Whirligig Impact Grenade Line, the Whirligig v2, is a gas-powered impact grenade device designed for effective room clearing, making it an excellent addition to any player’s loadout during skirmishes. Weighing in at 280 grams, it is lightweight grenade, albeit it has a bulkier profile compared to some airsoft pyrotechnic grenades. This grenade offers reusable functionality; once deployed, it simply requires refilling with green gas and can accommodate 200 rounds of 6mm BBs or 150 rounds of 7mm Gel BBs. Upon being thrown into a room, the grenade detonates on impact, executing a rapid 360-degree spin, which allows for a more traditional method of striking opponents with BBs, unlike pyrotechnic grenades that depend on players to call their hits honourably. The Whirligig v2 is equipped with a Soft Sensitivity impact system, ensuring reliable detonation even on soft surfaces such as AstroTurf or from underhanded throws of approximately 30cm. Featuring a fully internalised system, the grenade employs a patented twist-lock primer mechanism, complete with “On” and “Off” indicators to signify whether the grenade is primed or inert, eliminating the need for a pin or spoon as found in traditional grenades. Constructed with durable internals, the grenade boasts an aluminium housing reinforced with TPU rubber top and bottom caps, ensuring consistent reliability and the ability to withstand rigorous impacts for repeated use.

Given its internalised operation, user-friendly interface, and ample gas and BB capacity, the 40MAX Whirligig v2 is a valuable asset to any player’s arsenal. Its lightweight design and straightforward controls enable even inexperienced players to adapt quickly to the system, even amidst a firefight. Manual of Arms:

Rotate the Whirligig v2 Grenade Top Cap to the “Off” position.

Fill the grenade (fill valve located at the bottom) with 5 seconds of Green Gas, then stop; top off with an additional 5 seconds of gas.

Load the grenade with about 200 6mm BBs using a speedloader via the BB port at the bottom of the grenade. The BBs may bind in the spiral chamber, so give the grenade a few twirls during loading to ensure the BBs are fed to the bottom.

When ready to use, twist the top cap to the “On” position, priming the grenade.

Throw the grenade. (Optional) The grenade can be twisted back to the inert state if not needed for throwing.

Collect the grenade after use (preferably immediately to prevent theft).

Repeat the process to reuse the grenade.
